All the goings on!
Last week, with help from Leslie and Katie Davis, we threw an awesome shower for Becca and TJ. We all had a blast and acted like we were in college again. Thanks to all the grandparents for babysitting!!! Nate had his first spend the night with Grandma and Grandpa. They said he did really well, but woke up a little fussy with a slight runny nose. With little hints with what they had to do to keep him happy I think they might have been fibbing a little about how good he was. Well Sunday when we picked him up turned into a chaotic day of fussing and neediness. It went downhill from there. Two sleepless nights and 101 fever later we headed to the doctor yesterday. Of course when we walked in the door he had a perfect 98.6 temp and was acting great and playing with the doctor and his toys. Well I kept telling her I promise he had a temp and was really grumpy!!! Turns out there was a reason...double ear infections. I guess if your going to get your first ear infection, why not have one in both ears. Nate is also getting really good at eating solid foods. He loves puffs, animal crackers, and his new treat the jumbo rice krispies. What a big boy!

A Whole New World
We have been working on Nate becoming more independent. Letting him figure things out for himself. Well he has a few new tricks that he can do. He is getting really good at sitting up by himself. You have to sit him, but he stays there for awhile. He likes to be able to look around. The only bad thing about sitting, is that he is at perfect height for run by licking by the dogs. Mainly Lily. She loves the fact that she can get so close to him now. They are all so gentle with him. They have never knocked him over while he is sitting in the floor. He is not the biggest fan of all the dogs kisses and makes the funniest faces when they lick him. Watch out dogs just wait, he will be swinging at you soon enough! Nate has also gotten really good at standing. Yes, standing. I will stand him next to the couch and put his hands on the couch for balance and I let go. He will stand sometimes for a good few minutes! He has also mastered putting his own paci in his mouth. We just put multiple pacis in his crib at night and he can always find a new one. Yeah. I have also started to notice how flexible he is and I am seriously considering the little gym for next fall. They are moving super colse to the house and I think he would love it!

NOT ME!!
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
Thanks to Leslie and Rachel for showing me the way to Not Me Mondays. Well I know it is Friday and everything but, here goes.
So I certainly did NOT place my 6 month old in his bouncy seat unbuckled while I put on make up. And I most definitely did not let him be independent in getting things he wants and lean forward to get the paci he dropped on the floor and then crash and burn head first into the floor while I was applying mascara.
