A Major Meltdown!!!

So I know I have experienced Nate's meltdowns before. Especially when he is majorly tired and needs to sleep. Generally that is the only reason he melts down. Well last night I had my first meltdown with him. Around 9:25 he began to be fussy. This is not unusual. SO I cuddled him and the fussing turned into all out crying. Still not that bad. Well the crying turned to screaming at around 9:35. So I proceeded to take him to his room and begin the bed time process a little early for his schedule. Through the screaming I changed his clothes, diaper and prepared a bottle. At this point he had settled a little. When I sat down to feed and rock him the screaming elevated to all out whaling. He would stop every couple of seconds to take a few sips of the bottle, but it wasn't helping. I was beginning to get frustrated at this time as well. It was now around 10pm So nothing I was doing was helping. I needed a moment to regroup. So I put him in his crib and walked out of his room. He continued to scream. Chris looked at me when I walked out of the room and said he just needs to sleep. Why won't he give up? I had no answers for this. At 10:15 I went back in his room I couldn't take it I had to do something. Chris went too. We picked him up and I striped all his clothes off. He had worked himself into a major sweat. When he was completely naked on laying on his changing pad he just stopped. So, I picked him up and finiashed the bed time process. At this point I had to cry too. That was so overwhelming. Chris told me to stop that everything was okay. Well he finally went to bed (SLEEP) at 11. Two hoursafter the whole ordeal began. I feel bad for moms with high maintance kids. I was beat after that. The kicker through the whole thing was that he would randomly stop crying and smile at me. Then the screaming would continue. Little brat!

Funny Little Anniversary

So My first day back at work was conveniently mine and Chris' 4th anniversary. So that morning I gave Chris a quick kiss goodbye and left him a little gift on the table and then I was out the door to work. My day was nice. I guess they gave me good patients to keep me from being overwhelmed on my first day back. The day was fine and I only called the sitter one time! I thought I did great. I wasn't worried that the sitter couldn't handle him, I was just hoping he wasn't screaming and acting up. Well he wasn't and they had a great day. The cutest thing is that when Chris picked Nate up from the sitter's (Lisandra's house) her daughter Riley cried and didn't want Nate to leave. How sweet. I was told that Riley was also trying to get Nate to play with her and trying to teach him how to crawl. Too Cute! Well after two days of work I was exhausted! Sunday Chris and I decided to celebrate our Anniversary. We dropped Nate off at my parents and we had plans for lunch and a movie. Well we had lunch, but the movie we skipped. I think it is ridiculous that it costs so much to see a movie. Instead we came home put all the Christmas stuff back in the attic and cleaned the house. Yes the Christmas stuff still needed to be put up. Then we ran a quick errand and went and got Nate. What an anniversary! HA HA!!

Back to work

Our sad faces since mommy has to go back to work!
No mommy don't go!!
So it is that time that I have to leave my bean in the hands of someone else. Unfortunately the day I have been dreading is here. I go back to work tomorrow. I love what I do and the people that I work with, but I would much prefer to stay with the bean. When I first told my boss that I was pregnant she told me that after the baby was born that I would start to think of how we could get by on one salary and that I would have my mind more on home and could care less about what happens at work. I replied that I understood what she meant, but now I really understand. I love the nanny or sitter (whatever you want to call her), but it is not the same as mommy. I have had little periods of thinking to myself that it really sucks to have to go back to work, but I just need to get into the swing of things. Now the pressure is on daddy to be at Nate's beck and call until I get home from work. Then of course there is the weekends that I work. Chris is a little scared to be on his own for such a long time, but he is a great dad and just needs to realize it!! Now on to a much happier note. Nate had another first this past weekend. We went to Melanie's 3rd birthday party at the Little Gym. That place is cool. One of the instructors was a little over the top and scary, but overall it was a great party. Everyone got to learn that Nate really does cry though. I think he was a little over stimulated with all the kiddos running around, the music, the colors and all the adults talking. I took him out of the gym part and we watched for awhile through the window. He calmed down and behaved nicely through the opening of presents. Then he nicely spit up down his really cute outfit, my arm and onto the floor. daddy nicely cleaned the mess and I changed Nate into his back up outfit that stays in the diaper bag. Well lately I have been pulling out some of Nate's clothes because he is to long for them. Well that was the case for the back up outfit. Poor kid looked like he was wearing capris. Oh well. We were just heading home at that point. He nicely had a melt down as we were getting ready to get in the car. It was so bad that I rode in the backseat to try to get him to settle down. He finally feel asleep in the car. He had not had a good nap all day and we were paying for it now. He slept from about 6:30 until I fed him his night bottle at 9:30 and then hew slept until 2 am. He was TIRED!!! I really liked the little gym and I got some info on it before I left and I hope to start him in it in the fall. He will be able to start in their first class this summer. They start kiddos st four months if you want. It is all mommy and me stuff until they are 3. So hopefully we will start in the fall when Nate can do more.

Yeah for POOP!!!

The changing table...his favorite place!
The title of this post says it all! The new formula and juice has done the trick. Nate started on the new feeding combo last Saturday and come Monday night he was pooping on his own without the turdmometer! YEAH!!! So the first poop happened when I was feeding him his bedtime bottle. I have a major stuffy nose, but I could smell something. The poor little thing was just about asleep for the night, but I couldn't leave him in a stinky diaper. So I woke him up and changed his diaper. After a few minutes of rocking he was out. I immediately ran out to the living room and told Chris. It is crazy how we have been getting excited for him to poop. Well Nate woke up a little early for his middle of the night bottle, but Chris went to feed him and we didn't think anything of it. Well after a very long bottle Chris came back to bed and informed me that he had woken himself up by pooping! Twice in one night!!! Chris said when he opened Nate's bedroom door the smell about knocked him over! HAHA!!! Nate has been in a much better mood today and no stinky gas!!! Then while I was feeding him his lunch bottle he began to smile and not eat then....there was another diaper blowout. I think he is cleaning out his system. Hopefully he will continue on this daily pooping routine and we won't have to worry about his diet any more! That was a whole lot of info about poop!

New Year and 2 Month check up

Go dogs!
This is what the party turns into when kids are involved!
Look out ladies here I come!
We had a great New year. Very low key and laid back. We didn't want to do too much for the new year, especially having Nate we are limited on what we can doplus I haven't been feeling too good. So we had a few friends over. They have kids as well so we set up multiple pack and plays and when all the kids went down we played Partini and watched the ball and peach drop. Not too long after the new year we crashed and went to bed. I determined the next day that I am too old to stay up late and wake up early with the baby!!! The next day was the Bulldogs bowl game and we stayed in lazy day clothes and watched the game. Chris fell asleep on the couch at 730 pm and we all went to bed at nine! Today Nate had his 2 month check up. A little late due to the holidays, but that is okay! I had a few concerns to discuss with the doctor...CONSTIPATION!!! The poor baby goes 3-4 days with out pooping and then has horrible, painful, stinky gas and then needs the thermometer to help him pass a couple of pebbles. I have never really had to take Nate's temp so the thermometer has only been used to help him poop, so it has been renamed the turdmometer! The doctor suggested a few remedies and changing his formula. So hope for the best! He looks great otherwise. He weighs 11 lbs and 10 ounces, 50 percentile. His head is in the 50th percentile and his length 24 1/2 inches...the 90th percentile. Where he got the height from beats me. The poor thing was so tired at the doctor that he had three meltdowns before his shots!!! One nurse came in and tried to comfort him while I was talking to the doctor. It helped a little. he got his shots and we were off to the house. He got home and had lunch and passed out. Now for me to go take a nap and try to get rid of this cold. Have a happy new year!

A Merry Little Christmas

The party pig lost his pants!
Christmas is so much fun!
Takin' a break from all the festivities!
So it has been awhile since I have posted, but the holidays are a very busy time...especially with a child! We had a wonderful Christmas. Christmas Eve we all went down to Chris' grandmothers house for a whole family gathering. We had a great time. Nate was that biggest ham though. With tons of people to hold and snuggle him, he was in heaven! He acted great and was in an awesome mood! We had a whole family gift exchange and got great things. I noticed that there was still alot of gifts under the tree after the gift exchange. Chris helped pass out the individual gifts and the next thing I know there is a pile of gifts for Nate. He got some fun new toys from his great grandma and great aunts! Thanks to all of you for the great gifts. We drove home and put Nate to bed for Santa to come! He didn't have the best night though. He woke up twice screaming with no warning. The poor kid had horrible gas. After a little more sleep we were all up early and off to my parents house and then to chris' parents house. The car was packed with presents for eveyone. We had a great breakfast at my parents and then opened presents. Holy cow...more toys and goodies for Nate. Chris and I also got great gift cards and goodies! After some family time it was off to Chris' parents. We did presents there and dinner with everyone! What a blast! I think at both houses the kids had the biggest piles of presents! Nate is so spoiled already and doesn't even know it! We had to arrange everything in the car to fit and get it all home. I couldn't see out the back window! The toys are great they are for older ages so Nate can grow into them. Nate will think he is having a birthday all the time when I pull new toys out of the closet! Thanks to everyone for all the awesome presents they are all great. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
